Switch to OVB

Open Your New Accounts

Your first step is to open your new Ohio Valley Bank account. Stop by your nearest Ohio Valley Bank office to complete this step or click here to open your accounts online.
  • When you open your new accounts, make sure that you sign up for free NetTeller internet banking and/or OVB Line telephone banking. This will give you an advantage when you get to the "Switch Over" step.

Close Your Old Accounts

Be sure to leave your old checking accounts active long enough to allow outstanding checks and automatic withdrawals to clear. Leave enough money in place to cover these transactions. This process may take several weeks. Once you are sure that the old accounts are inactive, you can destroy your old checks, ATM/debit cards, and deposit slips.

Switch Your Auto Transactions

Contact the companies and financial institutions which handle your automatic deposits and withdrawals. Use this checklist to keep track of people you may need to contact:

Direct Deposit:
Anyone who makes automatic withdrawals from your account:
Anyone who makes automatic charges to your old debit or credit cards:
Use your NetTeller internet banking or OVB Line telephone banking to make sure that these transactions have been moved from your old account to your new one. Once you are sure that your old account is inactive, close that account .

You're Done.
