August 6, 2018

Ohio Valley Bank will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, to honor the start of its construction project to revitalize downtown Gallipolis, Ohio. Called OVB on the Square, the project includes bringing back to life one of the bank’s first homes, a building erected in 1896, and building on a new expansion. The completed facility has an expected price tag of over $5 million.

Ohio Speaker of the House Ryan Smith will be speaking at the event and many regional dignitaries will be on hand. The groundbreaking will be held across from the Gallipolis City Park at the building site, which is ironically 360 Second Avenue, as Ohio Valley Bank comes full circle back to its roots. Guests will arrive to music by local signing group Ordinary People. Pastor Christian Scott will give the invocation. The exterior of the new expansion will be unveiled.

Plans include a spacious third floor community meeting room with adjoining rooftop patio overlooking the Gallipolis City Park. The completed facility will also serve as the new headquarters of the $1 billion asset bank.
