GALLIPOLIS – Walker Fowble, Lauren Kincaid, Callie Farmer, Isabella Kearns, Sydneyahna Card, Makenzie Collins, and Mikenna Ferguson were named the 2025 recipients of the Ohio Valley Bank 4-H Scholarship. To date, the bank has helped 269 4-H members pay for college through the program.
Fowble was named the Gallia County Scholar. He is the son of Ryan and Beth Fowble. He is a graduate of Oak Hill High School and plans to attend Marshall University to study pharmacy. He is a member of the Kountry Kritters 4-H Club.
Kincaid was named the Mason County Scholar. She is the daughter of Joe and Janet Kincaid. She is a graduate of Point Pleasant High School and plans to attend the American University of Paris through the scholar’s program at George Washington University. She is a member of the Haer Bears 4-H Club.
Farmer was named the Pike County Scholar. She is the daughter of Josh and Megan Farmer. She is a graduate of Western High School and plans to attend Shawnee State University to study childhood education. She is a member of the Pike County Beef and Breeders 4-H Club.
Kearns was named the Lawrence County Scholar. She is the daughter of BJ and Leslie Kearns. She is a graduate of Ironton High School and plans to attend Morehead State University to study pre-veterinary medicine. She is a member of the Over Yonder 4-H Club.
Card was named the Meigs County Scholar. She is the daughter of Robert and Brooke Card. She is a graduate of the Treca Digital Academy and plans to attend Ohio University, where she will study to become a veterinary tech. She is a member of the Hooves, Hands and Hearts 4-H Club.
Collins was named the Jackson County Scholar. She is the daughter of Stacy Collins. She is a graduate of Jackson High School and the Buckeye Hills Career Center. She plans to attend the University of Rio Grande to study nursing. She is a member of the Highlanders 4-H Club.
Ferguson was named the Cabell County Scholar. She is the daughter of Sean and Tiffany Ferguson. She is a graduate of Hurricane High School and plans to attend Purdue University to study animal science with a pre-veterinary medicine track. She is a member of the Ridge Runners 4-H Club.
Created in 1986, for more than 35 years the Ohio Valley Bank 4-H Scholarship Program has recognized outstanding high school seniors for their accomplishments in 4-H. Recipients receive $3,000 over 4 years which is typically presented to them during the county fair.
Winners are determined by 4-H advisors and volunteers. 4-H involvement accounts for 50 percent of the decision. The other half considers the individual’s experiences in other groups and activities, academic accomplishments and potential for success.
