GALLIPOLIS, Ohio - During the Ohio Valley Bank Corp. Annual Shareholders Meeting, OVB President and CEO Larry Miller announced the winners of the bank’s prestigious employee award, the OVB Award of Excellence, which is OVB’s highest honor.
 
The OVB Award of Excellence is presented to Ohio Valley Bank employees who exemplify and are committed to the mission, vision, and values of the company. In addition, the award is presented to those who have made a positive impact on the bank, their fellow employees, and the community.
 
This year’s OVB Award of Excellence recipients are Pat Tackett, Amanda Taylor, and Jessica Taylor.
 
Pat Tackett, OVB vice president, corporate banking, established his career with the bank 42 years ago. He was nominated for the Award of Excellence due to his passion for both his customers and community. During his time with OVB, Tackett has certainly taken the bank’s Community First mission to heart as he has put in countless volunteer hours at various local organizations.
 
Amanda Taylor, OVB IT specialist supervisor, joined the OVB team in 2018. From the start, Taylor has been continually praised as being an asset to the bank due to her ability to communicate both clearly and professionally. Taylor works alongside many areas of the bank, including management. In addition to leadership, she brings confidence, service excellence and patience to her role.
 
Jessica Taylor, OVB Jackson branch operations manager, has been part of the OVB team for seven years. In that timeframe, Taylor has impressed her fellow co-workers with her passion for community service, quality of work, and attention to detail. Not only is she an asset to the bank, but she is also a role model with her continued positive attitude.
 
OVB Award of Excellence winners were nominated by their fellow employees and selected by the bank’s board of directors. During the judging process, nominee names were removed. The board selected this year’s winners based on a scoring system. Each recipient received $500, a commemorative plaque and an extra vacation day.
